We are pleased to announce the release of EP3 Version 1.3!

This update includes many major and minor improvements:

  1. Introducing Atlasis EP3’s AI-powered assistant designed to help you work more efficiently with EP3 models. Atlas can answer questions about your model, analyze simulation results, generate data visualizations, and suggest modifications—all through natural conversation.
  2. Our Results Viewer gets a major facelift, with improved table formatting and graphing for EEM comparisons.
  3. Speed Improvements throughout
  4. Implementation of EnergyPlus’ AirflowNetwork for modeling of detailed pressure-based infiltration and natural ventilation.
  5. Added HVAC Templates for VRV systems

We are pleased to announce the release of EP3 Version 1.2 – See What’s New!

Great news!  EP3 Version 1.2 is now live and ready for download.  We’ve been listening to your feedback and have packed this update with features that will make your energy modeling workflow even smoother.

🆕 What’s New in Version 1.2:

Enhanced Site Visualization

See your building’s orientation and shadows in full context with surrounding structures. Perfect for optimizing your solar strategies and understanding site constraints.

Construction Assignment Alerts

EP3 now highlights surfaces that may have incorrect construction assignments (like interior surfaces with exterior constructions). Catch these common mistakes early and save hours of debugging time.

Zone & Space Templates

New templates consolidate internal load definitions, making complex buildings much easier to understand and manage. This feature alone will save you hours on large projects.

Performance Settings

We’ve added new settings that significantly boost UI speed when working with large models, so you can focus on modeling instead of waiting.

We at EP3 are pleased to announce the release of EP3 Version 1.1!

We have so enjoyed meeting and working with you.  This release integrates many user-requests and under-the-hood performance improvements to create a faster, more seamless user experience.

What’s new in EP3 1.1:

1. Updated to support EnergyPlus 25.1 – Support for EnergyPlus 24.1 and 24.2 remains – just select the version of EnergyPlus that you want to use under Model Settings in the wizard.

2. Dynamic Overlay (User Request!) – View node states directly in the HVAC diagram via EP3’s detailed variable viewer.

3. ZoneHVAC:LowTemperatureRadiant:VariableFlow Support (User request!) – To view an example of ZoneHVAC:LowTemperatureRadiant:VariableFlow implementation, import the EnergyPlus example file – RadLoHydrHeatCoolAuto.idf into EP3.

4. Dehumidifier:Desiccant:System Support (User request!) – To view multiple examples of Dehumidifier:Desiccant:System implementation, import the EnergyPlus example file DesiccantDehumidifierWithAirToAirCoil.idf with EP3.

5. Custom Sensor and Actuator Placement – Now available for:

  • CoilSystem:Cooling:DX
  • Dehumidifier:Desiccant:System
  • Controller:WaterCoil
  • HeatExchanger:FluidToFluid

6. HVAC System Template Wizard – Create reusable HVAC system templates to streamline your workflow.

7. 2x Faster Geometry Import – Improved geometry import speeds up your modeling process.

8. HVAC Editor Enhancements – Enjoy 2x faster UI responsiveness and 3x quicker import times for complex systems.

9. Up to 10x Faster Simulation Translation – With recent backend upgrades, EP3-to-EnergyPlus translation speed has improved dramatically—simulation has never been this fast.

10. Multi-Weather File Simulation Support (User request!) – Run simulations with multiple weather files! Choose a single weather file for all EEMs, or assign specific weather files to individual EEMs for more tailored analysis.

With recent backend upgrades, EP3-to-EnergyPlus translation speed has improved dramatically—simulation has never been this fast.

We’re thrilled to continue evolving EP3 alongside your needs. This is just the beginning—stay tuned for more updates, and keep the feedback coming! 🚀
